Provi "Facts"

"Provibloc is neutral, like the Swiss"
I call shenanigans!  There is no neutral in EvE, and everybody should know it. Provi has worked with (and fought against) just about every major (and many minor) powerbloc in EVE.

Providence isn't neutral by any means. It stands for its own interests, and sometimes the enemy of your enemy isn't your enemy. But let's not be fool enough to call them friends.

"There are no Capitals in Providence"
Let's face it, there are hundreds of carriers and dreads in Provi, and a minimum of 6 titans that are used for bridging the "Provi-blob" around to the surrounding lowsec and other nearby destinations. There are Supers too. Always have been. They die occasionally too:  Aeon, Aeon, Aeon As 3 examples, one of them recent. There's lots more, but I'm not going to troll zkillboard finding them.

Sure, you have a few people who solo drop their carriers or even rorquals on enemies, but it's been stated via threats many times that anybody ratting in a capital will have their corp and (whispered) possibly Alliance kicked from their space.

How credible this actual threat is might be questionable, given the trouble Provi has had in the last few years evicting it's troublesome former residents. And while there are some Alliances that work on having a capital fleet capability, it's training that's planned ONLY for use when the proverbial 'backs are to the station' on the undock, defensively. But that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Then of course, there's my favorite piece of fiction:

"Nobody manufactures Supercaps in Providence"

Yeah, ok, except 4TH, AFK, and of course TSOE (for a price). There were, at last count, 14 Capital Ship Assembly Arrays mounted, with more than half of them active. It's treason to talk about where.

Provi's got CSAA's and SCAA's floating in space and any idiot with dscan can find them, given that neutrals can go anywhere with impunity.
They even get killed from time (AFK) to time, sometimes in pairs - 4th- (this and this), Oh and look, here's one of the TSOE ones that got popped.

Even the much loved-hated ginger-kids in VOLT were building supers at some point, with this from several years ago.

If they're not giant E-penises for Provi's leadership to masturbate with, then I have to ask, who are they selling to? And who's getting fat wallets full of iskies to look the other way?

"We've got no good moons (R64) in Providence"

Mmmmmm... nope. There's six(6) confirmed R64 moons in Provi. The difference between the high-value moons in Provi, and those owned by every other bloc, is that the moons are the personal possessions of CVA bittervets and close friends of the current and former leadership of CVA. The R64 moons (that haven't been taken by force by members of the Big Blue Donut ) don't make any money for the coalition or their Alliance, or fund any kind of SRP program.

I love the work Marlona Sky has been doing in other regions, if ONLY she'd get her ass down to Providence, the universe would know the truth!

With it's shit-ton of stations (the defense plan for Providence essentially relies on any attacker being to bored to death to grind it all with stations in +90% of systems) Providence is uniquely placed to take advantage of the industry changes in Crius. It makes me wonder who's realized this yet...

"Provi has a no SRP/Shit SRP"
In fact, an SRP program where all contribute fairly is a constant subject of dissent and discussion on Providence, both among pilots and what passes for leadership. Many think it would be a great idea, as most smaller shitbox coalitions in other areas of nullsec can manage something. It seems logical that with a handful of R64 moons, and several dozen R32 moons, the resources of an entire region, and thousands of active pilots, something would be arranged by now. Providence has been established as a bloc for years, and yet can't seem to get it done.

Or, as recently occurred (and by recently I mean every 3-4 months), several proposals go up and some terrible compromise that doesn't require all those who operate in Provi to contribute gets instituted. The last three SRP programs that were setup were either stolen, mismanaged, or went bankrupt.

It always seems to get shouted down by either CVA bittervets (those that still login) or the Alliances within the coalition that owe their allegiance from a long time back. At the end of the day, it comes down to trust over managing an income stream that would be fairly and equitably distributed. Nobody trusts CVA leadership (FC's and what passes for their command structure), but nobody trusts anybody else to run one either.

The moons are certainly fairly distributed for now, everybody gets nothing, except the personal owners. That's fair and honest, right?

"PvP is all Kitchen Sink shit-blobbers who can't give gudfights"

Does Provi blob? Sure! Does everybody else when you roam a gang into their home space? Of Course! There's nothing like overwhelming numbers. Try running by VFK and see if you don't come down with the worst case of Harpies you've ever had. Nothing gets the blood going like running from the blob. Yours or somebody else's.

But there's consistently more PvP in Provi around the clock, due to it's proximity to hisec, lowsec, and position as a border region, not to mention the fairly large around the clock population. Check the "pilots active or in space" stat for most regions in nullsec and I'd bet the only other area close to it in daily numbers is Catch, and that's only because HERO adopted BRAVE.

I can rarely think of the time when I couldn't find some kind of small gang fleet roaming or patrolling, as there's almost more FCs in Providence than there are mining fleets... **almost**.

So in conclusion, much of what you hear about Providence from it's FCs and CEOs is bullshit. And I wish more people knew it.

Thoughts? More bullshit "Facts"you know of about Provi? Send me an email!
